The <strong>Apply PoE Temperature Adjust<\/strong> option, located in the Room Alert Monitor&nbsp;<em>Sensor Settings<\/em>, automatically adjusts for this heat difference.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"su-note\"  style=\"border-color:#bcc3cd;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\"><div class=\"su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"background-color:#D6DDE7;border-color:#ffffff;color:#305D92;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\">\n\n\n\n<p><em>Room Alert 3S only<\/em>: if you&#8217;re updating from firmware v1.6.12 or an earlier version, and your Room Alert 3S is running on PoE at the time of the firmware update, the PoE temperature adjust option will be enabled by default.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enable PoE Temperature Adjust<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If your Room Alert 3S or 12S is running on PoE and reading approximately 5\u00b0 &#8211; 10\u00b0 Fahrenheit higher than expected, please follow these instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>First, open your Room Alert Monitor\u2019s web interface. \n<ul>\n<li>This FAQ shows you how: <a href=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/13255\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How To Open Your Room Alert Monitor\u2019s Built-in Web Interface<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next, navigate to the <strong>Settings &#8211;&gt; Sensors<\/strong>&nbsp;page. \n<ul>\n<li>This FAQ shows you how: <a href=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/166\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How To Access A Room Alert Monitor\u2019s Settings Pages<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, in the <strong>Sensor Settings<\/strong> page, locate the <em>Internal Temperature Sensor&#8217;s<\/em> interface.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Here, you&#8217;ll see a checkbox labeled &#8220;Apply PoE (Power over Ethernet) Temperature Adjust.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the checkbox to enable the automatic temperature adjust.<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1487\" height=\"871\" class=\"wp-image-26605\" style=\"width: 600px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/RA3S_12S_Int_Temp_PoE.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/RA3S_12S_Int_Temp_PoE.png 1487w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/RA3S_12S_Int_Temp_PoE-300x176.png 300w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/RA3S_12S_Int_Temp_PoE-1024x600.png 1024w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/RA3S_12S_Int_Temp_PoE-768x450.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1487px) 100vw, 1487px\" \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then select <strong>Save Settings<\/strong>.<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"101\" height=\"31\" class=\"wp-image-26407\" style=\"width: 100px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/saveButton-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the unit reboots, navigate to the Room Alert Monitor&nbsp;<em>Status<\/em> page to view the adjusted sensor reading.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If needed, you may further adjust the reading by following the instructions in our FAQ,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/2440\/adjust-sensor-reading-room-alert-monitor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">How To Adjust A Sensor Reading On A Room Alert Monitor<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once this is done, no further changes are needed, and you should see the temperatures reported by the Room Alert Monitor track accurately with the outside temperature of the room.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Using a Room Alert 3E monitor?&nbsp;Please click here for the appropriate FAQ.
