Switch sensor ‘Alarm On’ states are set to ‘Closed’ by default in your Room Alert Monitor web interface.\u00a0Click here<\/a>\u00a0to check if your switch sensor should be set to ‘Alarm On’ ‘Open’ or ‘Closed’.<\/p>\n

To change the ‘Alarm On’ setting for your switch sensor to ‘Open,’ follow these steps:<\/p>\n

1. Open your Room Alert Monitor’s web interface. You may open the interface using Device Discovery, Device ManageR, or your account at RoomAlert.com<\/a>. You may also type the IP address of the unit directly into the address bar of your web browser.<\/p>\n

2. Select\u00a0Settings<\/strong>\u00a0in the navigation bar to the left.<\/p>\n

3. Then select Sensors<\/strong>\u00a0from the options below Settings<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0On the Room Alert 3 Wi-Fi, navigate to the Alert Options<\/strong> –>\u00a0Sensors\u00a0<\/strong>page.<\/em><\/p>\n

4. In the Sensor Settings<\/em> page, scroll down to the Switch Sensor Settings<\/em> section and then find your sensor.<\/p>\n

– If you’ve named the sensor, you can find it by name.<\/p>\n

– Otherwise, you can find it by number: if you’ve connected your switch sensor to the first switch port, look for Switch Sen 1; if you connected it to the second switch port, look for Switch Sen 2<\/em>, etc.<\/p>\n

5. Select the Alarm On<\/strong> drop-down menu for your sensor. You’ll see a list with the following options:<\/p>\n

– Open<\/p>\n

– Closed<\/p>\n

– Disabled<\/p>\n

6. To generate an alarm (and change the Status page appearance to a red X) when the switch goes into an OPEN state, select Open<\/strong> from the drop-down list.<\/p>\n

7. Select Save Settings<\/strong>\u00a0at the top or bottom of the screen. Your Room Alert Monitor will reboot with your new setting.<\/p>\n
