Along with mitigating password-related security risks, enabling SAML SSO gives you the ease of managing users through your own centralized user management system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any administrator or provisioner* can enable or disable SAML SSO in <a href=\"https:\/\/roomalert.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RoomAlert.com<\/a>. paste each of the URLs <strong>from RoomAlert.com<\/strong> into your IdP:<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Entity ID URL<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><code>https:\/\/account.roomalert.com\/auth\/saml\/meta\/example<\/code><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Assertion Consumer Service URL <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><code>https:\/\/account.roomalert.com\/auth\/saml\/acs\/example<\/code><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Single Sign Off Service URL<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><code>https:\/\/account.roomalert.com\/auth\/saml\/logout\/example<\/code><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\"><li>Alternatively, you may use the metadata XML to automatically import these settings, rather than manually copying &amp; pasting them.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Metadata XML URL<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><code>https:\/\/account.roomalert.com\/auth\/saml\/meta\/example<\/code><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Configure the attributes to be passed to Room Alert Account upon login.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Create assertions in your IdP for each of the required attributes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>First, define or specify a unique identifier for each user (aka <em>NameID<\/em>).<ul><li>This can be any identifier that is unique to the user within the context of this service. Ideally, this should be a field that doesn&#8217;t change.<\/li><li>If your identity provider provides the option, set the <em>NameID<\/em> <em>Format<\/em> to &#8220;persistent.&#8221;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Next, configure the following attributes for each user:<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>First Name attribute<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><code>account.roomalert.com.givenname<\/code><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Last Name attribute<em> <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><code>account.roomalert.com.surname<\/code><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Email attribute<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><code>account.roomalert.com.emailaddress<\/code><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\"><li>Assign each user to your IdP&#8217;s new Room Alert Account application.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4: Finish configuring settings in Room Alert Account.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Return to the <a href=\"https:\/\/roomalert.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RoomAlert.com<\/a> browser tab.<\/li><li>Select the <strong>Edit <\/strong>button at the bottom of the form.<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"854\" height=\"302\" class=\"wp-image-24517\" style=\"width: 600px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/SAML_Config_Form_Edit.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/SAML_Config_Form_Edit.png 854w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/SAML_Config_Form_Edit-300x106.png 300w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/SAML_Config_Form_Edit-768x272.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 854px) 100vw, 854px\" \/><\/li><li>Then enter the following settings:<ul><li>In <em><strong>Identity Provider Entity ID<\/strong><\/em>, copy &amp; paste the identifier from your IdP.<\/li><li>In <em><strong>Identity Provider Login URL<\/strong><\/em>, copy &amp; paste the URL from your IdP.<\/li><li>In <em><strong>Identity Provider Certificate<\/strong><\/em>, copy &amp; paste the certificate from your IdP. <ul><li>To do this, first download the certificate (in PEM Base64 format) from your IdP. Then select <strong>Continue <\/strong>to return to the <em>SAML Login Configuration<\/em> form.<\/li><li>You can now <a href=\"#enable\">enable SAML SSO<\/a> on the account.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-anchor=\"enable\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>How To Enable SAML SSO<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please follow these instructions to enable SAML SSO for your organization&#8217;s Room Alert Account:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Before you begin, you must have successfully tested your SAML configuration. For instructions, please see the <a href=\"#configure\">How To Configure SAML Login<\/a> tab.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Select <strong>Enable <\/strong>the bottom of the <em>SAML Login Configuration<\/em> form.<\/li><li>Then in the confirmation box, select <strong>Enable SAML<\/strong>.<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"288\" class=\"wp-image-24431\" style=\"width: 500px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/EnableSAML.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/EnableSAML.png 600w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/EnableSAML-300x144.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/>  <br>Selecting this button will do the following:<ul><li>Log out any users currently signed into the account.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Delete the passwords of any users on the account. While SAML is enabled, all users must log in via SAML SSO.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>You <strong><em>might<\/em><\/strong> see a message like this:<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"388\" class=\"wp-image-24450\" style=\"width: 500px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/TurnOffSAML_RemoveUsers.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/TurnOffSAML_RemoveUsers.png 600w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/TurnOffSAML_RemoveUsers-300x194.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><ul><li>Users assigned to a SAML-enabled RoomAlert.com account cannot be assigned to multiple accounts. Before you can enable SAML, you must either remove these users from your account, or ask them to remove themselves from their other account(s).<\/li><li>After these users are removed, return to the form to enable SAML.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Once SAML is enabled, you may add new users to your Room Alert Account through your identity provider&#8217;s user management system.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-anchor=\"disable\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>How To Disable, Edit &amp; Delete Your SAML Configuration<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In order to edit, test, or delete your SAML configuration, you must first disable SAML on the account. To do this, please follow these steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>First select the <strong>Disable <\/strong>button.<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"96\" height=\"46\" class=\"wp-image-24453\" style=\"width: 85px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Disable.png\" alt=\"\"><\/li><li>In the confirmation box, please read the message about user passwords, and then select <strong>Disable SAML<\/strong>.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"276\" class=\"wp-image-24433\" style=\"width: 500px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/DisableSAML.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/DisableSAML.png 600w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/DisableSAML-300x138.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\"><li>Once SAML has been disabled, the <strong>Edit<\/strong>, <strong>Test <\/strong>and <strong>Delete <\/strong>buttons become available.<br><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"209\" height=\"125\" class=\"wp-image-24454\" style=\"width: 175px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/DisabledSAML_Buttons.png\" alt=\"\"><ul><li>If you edit your SAML configuration, you&#8217;ll need to perform a successful test again before you can re-enable SAML.<\/li><li>If you delete your SAML configuration, you&#8217;ll see a confirmation dialog box. Select <strong>Confirm <\/strong>to complete the process.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"227\" class=\"wp-image-24432\" style=\"width: 500px;\" src=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/DeleteSAML.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/DeleteSAML.png 600w, https:\/\/avtech.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/DeleteSAML-300x114.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-anchor=\"upgrade\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>What happens if your account upgrade lapses?<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n\n\n\n<p>SAML Single-Sign-On is an <a href=\"https:\/\/account.roomalert.com\/pricing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Enterprise+<\/a> level feature at RoomAlert.com. If your organization&#8217;s account has SAML SSO enabled, and the account&#8217;s upgrade expires or is downgraded, SAML SSO will automatically get disabled. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means that all users on the account will get set back to password authentication.
