If you connect a\u00a0Temperature & Analog sensor<\/strong>, Temperature & Active Power sensor<\/strong> or Temperature & Air Flow sensor<\/strong> to your Room Alert Monitor, you must manually set its Sensor Type; o<\/em>therwise, the sensor type is set to “Temperature \/ Humidity” by default.<\/p>\n

To set the Sensor Type<\/em> in your Room Alert Monitor’s web interface follow these steps:<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>

1. First open your Room Alert Monitor\u2019s web interface through one of Room Alert’s discovery utilities. You may also type the IP address of the unit directly into the address bar of your web browser.<\/p>\n

2. Next, navigate to the device\u2019s\u00a0Settings<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013>\u00a0Sensors<\/strong>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Scroll to your external digital sensor(s), the total number of which will vary depending\u00a0on the Room Alert model.<\/p>\n

4. Find the digital sensor interface that matches the port you connected your sensor to.<\/p>\n

5. Notice that the drop-down\u00a0list in Sensor Type<\/em>\u00a0defaults to Temp\/Humidity<\/em>.<\/p>\n

– If you’re working with a Temperature & Analog sensor, select\u00a0Temp\/Analog<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

– If you’re working with Temperate & Active Power sensor, select Temp\/Active\u00a0Power<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0Select Save Settings<\/strong> at the top or bottom of the page. Your Room Alert Monitor will\u00a0automatically reboot and commit your changes.<\/p>\n

7. Your Room Alert Status page will now show the correct sensor type.<\/p>\n

– This will be updated at RoomAlert.com and Room Alert Manager, as well.<\/p>\n

The Temperature & Analog sensor, Temperature & Active Power sensor, and Temperature & Air Flow sensor do not have the capability to measure humidity. If you leave the Sensor Type set to Temp\/Humidity,<\/em> you will not get an accurate humidity reading from these sensors.<\/div><\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
