From there, you may set a static IP on the unit so that it may be seen by your regular network.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"su-row\"><div class=\"su-column su-column-size-1-2\"><div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\"><div class=\"su-box su-box-style-default\" id=\"\" style=\"border-color:#a3aab4;border-radius:5px\"><div class=\"su-box-title\" style=\"background-color:#d6dde7;color:#305d8c;border-top-left-radius:3px;border-top-right-radius:3px\">Room Alert MAX<\/div><div class=\"su-box-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"border-bottom-left-radius:3px;border-bottom-right-radius:3px\">\n\n\n\n<p>If you connect your Room Alert MAX (out of the box) to a non-DHCP network, the unit will assign itself the IP address <strong>169.254.100.44<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"su-column su-column-size-1-2\"><div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\"><div class=\"su-box su-box-style-default\" id=\"\" style=\"border-color:#a3aab4;border-radius:5px\"><div class=\"su-box-title\" style=\"background-color:#d6dde7;color:#305d8c;border-top-left-radius:3px;border-top-right-radius:3px\">Room Alert 'S' models<\/div><div class=\"su-box-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"border-bottom-left-radius:3px;border-bottom-right-radius:3px\">\n\n\n\n<p>There is no default IP address for Room Alert &#8220;S&#8221; models. (Ideally, you&#8217;d do this with a crossover cable, but a regular Ethernet cable will probably work as well.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect your Room Alert to power using the AVTECH 5V power adapter that came with the unit. The Ethernet ports on computers do not provide PoE, so you will need to use that power adapter to power the unit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the unit is connected to power, it will send out a DHCP request. Make sure you set all of the required fields: IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and DNS server IP.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-fancy su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>Step 7: Put your Room Alert back on your regular network and discover it there.<\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Once you&#8217;ve saved your static IP settings, your Room Alert Monitor will reboot to commit those changes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Allow the unit to reboot, and then disconnect it from your computer and from power.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reconnect your Room Alert to your regular network with a standard Ethernet cable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then reconnect your Room Alert to power using the AVTECH 5V power adapter. (Unless your network is PoE enabled, in which case you don&#8217;t need to use the power adapter.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the unit powers on, it will come up at the static IP you set.
